How to check it, step by step
- Keep your numbers ready. Find your claim or intimation number and your policy number. The claim number comes when the claim is logged; the policy number is on your schedule and health card.
- Use an official channel. Use the claim query email [email protected], the helpline 1800 425 33333 or the TPA named on your policy documents, as listed above.
- Read the status and act on it. Match the status to the table below. If there is a query, answer it in writing and keep proof of the date.
What you need to hand
- Claim or intimation number. Given when the claim is logged, and printed on authorisation and query letters.
- Policy number. On your policy schedule and your health card or e-card.
- The patient's details as on the policy. Name and date of birth, spelled the same way.
What each status means

- โณUnder processThe claim is being read: the hospital's cashless request, or your reimbursement file.1 hour for the insurer to decide on a cashless request

| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Intimated | The insurer or its TPA has logged the claim and given it a number. | Note the claim or intimation number. Every follow-up needs it. |
| Under process | The claim is being read: the hospital's cashless request, or your reimbursement file. | For cashless, ask the hospital desk what time it sent the request. The clock runs from receipt. |
| Query raised | The insurer or TPA wants more information or a document before it decides. | Read the query letter, send exactly what it asks for in writing, and keep proof of the date you sent it. |
| Approved or settled | Cashless: an amount is authorised. Reimbursement: the insurer has paid, or is paying, the amount shown. | Check the amount against your bill. Any cut must name the policy term behind it. |
| Rejected or partly settled | The insurer is paying nothing, or less than you claimed. | Ask for the specific policy clause relied on, then write to the insurer's grievance officer. |

- Register it on IRDAI's Bima Bharosa portal at bimabharosa.irdai.gov.in if you want it tracked. This step is optional.
- Go to the Insurance Ombudsman within one year if the insurer rejects your complaint, does not reply within a month, or replies in a way you do not accept.
The full steps are in our guide to what to do when a claim is rejected or cut.
How superclaim helps
Send us the status, the query letter or the settlement letter on WhatsApp. A person reads it, explains it in plain words, and tells you what the insurer is asking for and what to send back. We do not replace the insurer's channels, and we never ask for an OTP, card or bank details.
Questions
How do I check my United India claim status?
Use the claim query email [email protected] or the helpline 1800 425 33333. These are United India's own channels, taken from its website. The TPA named on your policy documents services the claim and can also tell you its status.
What do I need to check my United India claim status?
Keep your claim or intimation number and your policy number ready. The patient's name and date of birth, as on the policy, also help.
How long can United India take to settle my claim?
IRDAI's limits apply to every insurer. A cashless request must be decided within one hour and final discharge authorised within three hours. A reimbursement claim must be settled within 15 days of submission, or the insurer pays interest at bank rate plus 2%.
What does query raised mean on my claim?
The insurer or TPA wants more information or a document before it decides. Send exactly what the query asks for, in writing, and keep proof of the date. IRDAI's 2024 master circular says no claim shall be rejected or closed for want of documents or for delayed intimation.
Is superclaim part of United India?
No. superclaim is not United India and cannot see or change your claim. For your claim status, use United India's official channels. A person at superclaim can explain a status or a query letter if you send it on WhatsApp.
